Privileged Access Management (PAM) is a system designed to manage and control accounts of privileged users of IT departments of different categories (full-time and part-time employees, external contractors) to critical resources.
A PAM system prevents uncontrolled use of privileged accounts when employees may store them in an unsafe location (in files on the desktop or network drive, on sticky notes, etc.) or intentionally transfer passwords to third parties.
At the same time, companies may refuse to allow employees to explicitly use privileged credentials.
Administrators of servers, network equipment, Active Directory and application systems no longer need to have administrative credentials; PAM solves this problem for them. An employee connects to the PAM system using his user account, and a session is opened on the target resource under an account with the required set of rights.
PAM systems allow you to manage virtual phone number service privileged user access, protect your IT infrastructure from unauthorized access, and record user session logs for possible investigation of erroneous or illegal employee actions.
